Heather Craney (Gayle and Laura) originated the roles of Gayle and Laura in Consent. For film, her recent credits include Child 44, Dangerous Parking, Mark of Cain and Vera Drake which earned her a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Adam James (Jake) is an award-winning actor who has worked extensively on stage and screen. Most recently seen in Girl from the North Country at the Noël Coward Theatre, Adam originated the role of Jake in Consent at the National Theatre, where his previous credits have included 13, Gethsemane and Blood and Gifts. He is recognisable on screen for his roles in Dr Foster, King Charles III, The Crimson Field, Hustle and Extras amongst others. Other theatre credits include An Enemy of the People for Chichester Festival Theatre, Bull for the Young Vic, Now or Later and My Child both for the Royal Court and King Charles III at the Almeida Theatre. His film credits include The Kill Team, Johnny English IIIHunter KillerA Little Chaos, Last Chance Harvey, Mother of Tears and Road To Guantanamo. His more recent television credits include Home From Home, Eric, Ernie and Me, Endeavour, Grantchester and Coalition.

Writer Nina Raine’s other plays include Tiger Country, Rabbit and Tribes as well as an adaptation of The Drunks by the Durnenkov Brothers. She was shortlisted for the 2004 Verity Bargate Award and awarded the 2006 Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle Awards for Most Promising Playwright for her debut play Rabbit. Tribes won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Foreign Play and the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Play and has been performed in eighteen different countries. Nina was nominated for a Susan Blackburn Smith Award for Consent.

Priyanga Burford played the lead in Channel 4’s film 100 Days of UKIP and was a regular in the BBC’s comedy series I Want My Wife Back. Other TV includes Veep, The Thick of It, Silent WitnessLondon Spy and the forthcoming adaption of King Charles III. She was in The Effect at Sheffield Crucible.

Pip Carter

Pip Carter is a familiar face at the National Theatre, where productions include the Young Chekhov season, The White Guard and Gethsemane (for which he was nominated for a Whatsonstage Award). He was in Posh in the West End, and his TV projects include Party Animals and David Hare’s Salting The Battlefield. Most recently he will be seen in Denial alongside Timothy Spall & Rachel Weisz.

Ben Chaplin

Ben Chaplin can currently be seen starring with Emily Watson in BBC1’s thriller Apple Tree Yard. An Olivier- and Tony Award-nominated actor, he’s played the National Theatre, Donmar Warehouse and Hampstead Theatre, and his wide-ranging film career includes the recent live-action Cinderella and The Truth About Cats and Dogs.

Heather Craney is known from Mike Leigh’s films Topsy-Turvy, All or Nothing and Vera Drake for which she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress BAFTA. Her theatre appearances include the West End musical Made In Dagenham, and Sugar Mummies and Stoning Mary at the Royal Court.

Adam James

Adam James‘ extensive theatre career includes two of Nina Raine’s earlier plays: Rabbit at the Old Red Lion and Trafalgar Studios, and Tiger Country at Hampstead Theatre; King Charles III at the Almeida, West End and Broadway and Bull at the Young Vic. TV work includes the upcoming film version of King Charles III, Doctor Foster, The Crimson Field and Extras.

Daisy Haggard is best known for her portrayal of Myra Licht in Episodes with Matt Le Blanc, and Samantha in BBC’s Uncle. Other credits include PsychovilleBallot Monkeys and I Give It A Year. She played the title role in Becky Shaw at the Almeida Theatre and appeared in you For Me for You at the Royal Court.

Anna Maxwell Martin

Anna Maxwell Martin starred in Bletchley Circle for ITV and among other productions the BBC’s South RidingReg and Bleak House for which she won the BAFTA for best actress. She also won a BAFTA for her work in Poppy Shakespeare. Anna played Sally Bowles in Rufus Norris’ West End production of Cabaret, and most recently played Lady Macbeth at the Young Vic.
