Are you Black and based in South London?
We want to hear from you.
As part of a new production for Stockroom theatre company, we are looking for Black people of all ages to speak with us about their experiences of the Covid-19 vaccine – pro, against, sceptical, right in the middle or wherever you stand – to shed light on the Black community’s relationship to the vaccine, the medical field and explore what it means to be Black in the UK today.
These conversations will be conducted by Black writers from Stockroom theatre company. We will be asking a series of questions, however we want you to feel comfortable enough to speak freely to your individual experience. This is a sensitive topic to some, therefore there is no obligation to share everything; some may have lots to share while others will only want to share a few words. Whatever suits you, suits us.
We just want to hear from as many Black voices as possible.
These conversations will be anonymous, your name will not be shared with the public or in the play. Your words will be used ONLY to inspire a brand new theatre piece for the stage constructed by Stockroom writers. A play for us, by us.
Please get in touch to organise a time and meeting spot to conduct our interview. We will be based in Brixton from the 20th – 24th June 2022, and are inviting individuals to meet us there in person for an informal chat. This could also be at our offices in Finsbury or a place you feel most comfortable.
Want to take part but not able to join us in person? We can conduct a phone or video call remotely online via Zoom or if you wish to send us a voice note we can accommodate for this too.
Although you will not be paid for these interviews, we would be happy to provide some food and beverages during the sessions.
If you are interested in being involved, please email kate@stockroom.co.uk.
Warm Regards,
Maheni Arthur
(Resident Writer @ Stockroom)
